I also enjoyed Quigley Down Under.

Tom Selleck is a NRA Board member. I believe he recently donated the Sharps rifle he used in Quigley to the NRA. Seeing Quigley made me want to go out and buy two other of his movies: "Crossfire Trail" and "Last Stand at Saber River."

Both were good. Both showed an appreciation for some historic firearms, and a reasonable attitude about their use.

Can't forget "The Patriot" (Mel Gibson), where a man averse to violence or overthrowing the government finds himself actively engaged in both, in defense of himself and his family.

Not sure if it would be considered a "pro" stance...

But the last few episodes of "Jericho" on CBS were rather defining...

Sad premise, to consider how low nieghbors in different towns handle adversity...

Springboard to the next season, I suppose, to see how all of that works...

The hammer is too short for it to be a SIG.

This is not a gun movie but relates with our concerns about tyranny and prohibition of weapons...
In Braveheart when Wallace comes back to his home town and is witness to the competitions, I think there's some explanation in there about the English prohibiting the Scots of weapons to avoid an uprising, so they can tax them to death and do what they will. So, they practice with rocks and farm implements or whatever they have until they do rebel and obtain weapons.
Weapons bans by governments are present all throughout history for one reason - tyranny.
I believe there is safety in numbers..
numbers like: 9, .22, .38, .357, .45, .223, 5.56, 7.62, 6.5, .30-06...

The Outlaw Josey Wales In addition to being a great pro-gun movie showing why personal arms are crucial, it has most of the best lines ever filmed.

Such as:

I didn't surrender but they toook my horse and made him surrender.

Round here we have something we call a Missouri boat ride.

Well Are you gonna pull them pistols or whistle dixie.
Reasonable gun control is hitting your target with the first shot.

They certainly were, and Episode 22 (the season finale) was the most pro-defense of them all.

And I can't believe that (spoiler deleted) was killed in the finale!

Puh-LEAZE CBS, bring this one back for another season!

Seriously, Jericho is the only show I've watched all season. I've watched a few episodes of this one or that one, but Jericho is the only one I've watched without fail. Since a storm knocked my DirecTV dish out of alignment, I can't get local channels, so I've watched it online every Thursday morning.

CBS is supposed to announce their fall lineup next week. I'm already slapping my veins and jonesin'.
