Prayers for healing and strength sent for you both.

Please consider getting a second opinion at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

No matter how exotic or unusual a cancer is, somewhere in that city within a city is a doc who knows more about saving people with that particular type of cancer than anyone else on the planet.

My friends and relatives include several MDA "saves" in "impossible" or "very unlikely" cases. They may be able to offer you a better treatment without that surgery, which carries some pretty severe side effect risks.

yeh, I'm not thrilled with the idea of surgery, and he knows it. We spent about 3 hours today with a very pro-radiation urologist and then with a radiologist. He's got a couple of appts over the next couple of weeks that have to be taken care of before anything else can be done. I'm just praying for guidance.

I'm sure you know all this by now, but each specialist will want to do the procedure that he/she specializes in, e.g. if a conventional surgeon he will want to remove the prostate, if a radiologist he will want to zap it, if a robotic specialist etc etc.

I have a friend who is grateful to have been cured of his cancer some years ago, but he is impotent now. Thankfully my own diagnosis turned-out to be a false alarm but had it been the "tiny cancer" originally ID'ed I would now do some "watchful waiting" on it, or maybe the seed-radiation thing.

I dunno, this is a tough one, but I wish you the best in your decision-making.

we're investigating an option at MD Anderson right now. Hopefully they will call us back on Monday, or we may just call them...the wait is hard, we filled out and online form thing. He likes the idea that you have an oncologist overseeing everything rather than the patient with a spinning head
