I went there as well last week and was not impressed at all. Gun prices were really high and ammo prices weren't much better. They did have a nice 5.11 section but again pricing was high. I can't tell if they are still going to add more on the west end and they just opened up early.

That's what I've found at all the GMs I've been to. Don't even bother going anymore.

There are only two cases where a Gander Mountain may be competitive (IMO). First, they sometimes will reasonably price a trade-in. Second, if they have a particular gun in stock that you want, they will price match a local competitor. Both of those are oddball cases. The other 95% of the time, they are way overpriced.

Hmmm, good to know. I always shop around for the best possible deal. Glad to know I don't need to waste my time here. I hate driving to Arlington anyway.

As everyone else has said, way overpriced. My husband and I checked it out today and some saying many things were $100 more is not an overstatement. I was able to find .380 and 9mm ammo in a large variety. That was one plus. Not the cheapest, but in stock beats not at all.

I was up that way for a week and had some time to kill before we headed back to Houston. The store seemed smaller than the other GM's I've visited. I don't go often so may be my imagination. They had some .22 in less desirable loadings. CCI LR Pistol Match, .22 Target Short. Winchester 50 rnd box .22 LR shot and no lead (tin) varmint load. Had some "Choot'em" .22 WMR 200 rnd for $59.99  Every thing was priced too high. Used gun rack was pathetic, but it's a new store so I cut them some slack. I was about as impressed as I've ever been at a GM. Not much.

I almost smashed my face trying to exit. I'm almost 6'2 and 220# and take long strides, so when I get moving it's hard to stop. I walked up to the automatic doors that are adjacent to the entry door and they never opened. I looked up and the EXIT sign was lit. The two ifr tag panel were there on either side of the doors. I heard a voice behind me say "frustrating isn't it!". I looked around and saw a young guy sort of laughing. As I turned a young lady on the other side of a partition said they only open for emergencies. You have to go far right and enter the checkout lanes in order to exit through some side doors perpendicular to the entry and exit foyers. I informed them of the serious violation the store was committing, but I was wasting my breath.
