Look into Charles Cottons CHL and the law classes. They're always very interesting and could quite possibly keep you out of jail if you have another potentially violent encounter.
This. I have attended this seminar twice, and it wouldn't be bad advice to do it once a year, just to remind yourself of what you can and can't do. I'm pretty sure that threatening to kill a man for approaching you is NOT one of the things you can do; and the reason the OP got away with it is because there was nobody else there to overhear it.
