From the mouth of what else: a college professor
Is the professor a cannibal or do they just want a trophy for the wall?

I work in a old office trailer for now. We have had issues with mice getting in. i have had a great deal of success using the sticky traps. We don't put bait in them, just leave them along the all where the mice travel and they run right across them and get caught. I have caught two on the same trap a few times. I prefer the open traps bought at Lowes or Home Depot.

Never had much success with baited traps.

We must have tougher mice. All we got out of sticky traps were balding mice. Found lots of fur....no mice.

About the deer, my sister was in town from VA near Tech. She says that all along the Eastern seaboard the deer are so far beyond the numbers before we (white men) settled that VA has tacked on two months of hunting season, one at the beginning and one at the end. The disabled vet that hunts her property took 19 two years ago and 15 last season (I don't know what, if any is there limit..Mamabear?). She's hoping that a couple more seasons will allow her to actually keep her flower beds and garden.

About mice, use peanut butter instead of cheese and place the armed trap in a paper bag; especially when trapping in a drawer. This keeps them from leaning over and removing the bate AND it's much more pleasant to pickup in the bag.

***Gross Out Warning***
We had a very smart population of mice at our station in Oak Cliff and one of the guys placed a couple of glue traps. We caught three pretty quickly. No one wanted to put them out of their misery and I caught a run at an accident. When we pulled back in we learned they had placed them outside where we had a feral cat mama. I went outside and there were three sets of tiny feet and no mice.

The best thing to do with a snake is turn him into a bunch of little snakes with a machete.
