Sorry for your loss. We lost Tipper about 6 months ago. It hurts. I take comfort in knowing I gave her all of the love I had. She was happy and loved. Her life, as short as it was, was as good as I could make it. I have no doubt your Millie and Merlin were similarly blessed.
Binky sleeping on Tipper, sleeping on the couch.

Truly sorry for your loss. We lost our beagle this year. It was tuff on my wife and myself as it has been with all of them.
I would not evertrade the pain of loss for the years of joy and the lessons they have taught.

Charles L. Cotton wrote:It's been a tough year for dogs in the Cotton family. In January, we lost our female Miniature Schnauzer Millie only a few weeks short of her 15th birthday. Today we had to have her buddy, our 14 year old male Miniature Schnauzer put down. He had an aggressive cancer and had gotten to the point that his quality of life was gone. Thankfully, the pain medications kept him from being in pain.
Merlin was hands down the smartest dog we've ever owned or even seen. Martha and I stopped telling people many of the things he did because they were beyond belief. I will say this much, his vocabulary was far larger than I've ever seen in a dog. He was very partial to Martha and it took at least two years before he thought it was okay to associate with me on anything other than an occasional basis. He was a rescue dog and I suspect he had been abused by a man.
Good bye old friend, you were a loyal companion.
Chas.

Salute and a hug from our family to yours. I've been there this year too.
Its ok. They're partying in a better place than here, and will be at the door with tails wagging when we get there.

My sincere condolences, losing a dog is truly painful.
Now, get your antenna up and start looking. There's another family member out there in Doggy Jail somewhere waiting to rescue you.
Dogs are a gift from above,
Nick

I took our dog, Ginger, to the vet and he had a wooden sign I hadn't seen before.
"My goal in life is to be as good a person as my dog thinks I am."

Sorry for your loss. They are not pets but instead one of the family.

Our prayers to the Cotton family. It is very hard to lose a pet as they truly become as a child.
Just think about the good time you have had and look forward to their greeting at Rainbow Bridge.

Charles, my heart aches for your loss.
It brings back the memories of all my wonderful canine friends who have passed through the years.
My prayers for healing of grief for you and Martha, and for guidance to find your next faithful companion.

Sorry for your loss. I lost Hamlet, my constant companion Great Dane, last year and I still grieve for him, as well as my wife's German Shepherd that died several years ago. We now have four dogs, one from adopt a pet, and three we rescued that had been dumped on our country road. Four more heartbreaks waiting to happen.

I'm so sorry for you loss. Dogs fill a special place in our lives and the love we get back, particularly from rescue dogs is hard to put into words.
