No, this smacks of CA/NY-style nanny-state "know better than you because I'm better" insistence on ever-increasing gov't control on what is supposed to be a free populace.

This is true. Some of the more "ouspoken" members of our tribe tend to be the gunnie equivalent of the drunken uncle stumbling over your lawn gnomes and causing embarrassment, but you never worry about him SWAT-ing you or pulling the media version of a drive-by on your house.
