I love puppies, but I draw the line at correlating the taking of an animals life with the murder of a human. Cruelty to animals should be punished but in no way should it ever result in the death penalty. I'm not sure how we got from burning a cheerleader to death to drowning puppies.

Hanging in the public square. It's quick and humane (done properly), it's graphic (especially done improperly), and it's a very visceral reminder to would-be perps and critters of what awaits them should they commit similar crimes.

I'm with Charles on this one. "Absolute Evil Cruelty" should be met with the same. A pile of wood and a sprinkler to keep it going as long as possible would be fitting...

I have been a vocal supporter for returning to public hangings for a long time.

I have frequently suggested hanging at the county seat courthouse of the county where a capital crime took place, at 17:00 Friday, with orders for the sanitation department to remove the remains first thing Monday morning before anything else. I'm told I'm cruel and/or crazy. Whatever, I believe in many instances such as this one it would be less punishment than fully warranted and possibly serve as a deterrent to some for the future.

Story starting to be picked up, this is on Yahoo.

I was in my office one morning just after 9:00 AM when a loud explosion that shook my windows so bad I quickly turned to see if I could see anything. I saw a large cloud of smoke and dust rising about five miles to the South. I turned my radio on to see if anything was being broadcast and got the news that a large building had exploded. You would be right if you guessed this happed in Oklahoma City.

I will not rehash the event or the days following, but I always dreamed that the miscreant could be placed in the center of the empty fairground just a few miles West of the exploded building, tied to a chair, with a full case of dynamite under it. The fuse should be the type that smokes and fizzles as it burns, and be artfully wound around the chair in spiraling loops, each loop becoming somewhat smaller as it got closer to him. Make it last at least five to ten minutes. Give he time to think of what he had done, maybe time to reflect on what was going to happen.

I know this sounds harsh, but at least he did not have to experience waterboarding, which seems to be the topic of choice in Washington.

Thanks for the sleuth detective work. The link above is very interesting. Meth, gang bangers, and a jihadist. For those who have not read it, the gas station she stopped at before she was killed is owned by a 19 year old jihadist. You say how does a 19 year old own a gas station, inherited? Apparently not. Lots of pictures from his facebook account when he was 16 holding gobs and gobs of cash.

The Sheriff in this little Mississippi town has already said that they will not find the killer. That is not comforting. A journalist is the one who found the video from the gas station that shows the girl, by simply asking, doesn't sound as if the Sheriff has even taken custody of the video. Our 19 year old gas station owner is controlling what the press can see of it. (thoughts he is leaving out parts he doesnt want anyone to see) He also seemed to know that they had poured gasoline down her throat, before that information was released to the public.

It seems you could almost build a good case for who did it just from the tweets and facebook posts that people are sharing.

I hope the Sheriff is not as bad as is being pointed out. Hopefully the State will get involved. We will see.

Photos in the associated video show an MBI investigator that is described as something like "sketchy." No one in authority appears to be conducting a serious investigation. There appears to be some very deep corruption in the area.
