Common sense and nature.
I would normally come to the aid of a LEO even placing my own life at risk. I don’t know about a Maryland Police officer though. The Chief states those stops are legal. I hope they learn that some things are legal but a bad idea.

So the basis for this stop was the smell of Marijuana? Yep.. Probably just another case of striking up a joint in front of the wife and child while on a family holiday.

PD says that the stop and search were justified. That pretty much says to me that anyone can be searched at any time, simply on the basis of an officer willing to indicate that something smelled funny.
This was no accident. Maryland has put together a database that identifies CHL holders by license plate number. When they pulled him over, they already knew he had a FL CCW and were specifically looking for his firearm.

When I was in Manassas to attend my brother-in-laws interment at Arlington I open carried to the store and had no problems or even sideways looks. I could see Maryland/DC from the rise on the interstate. At that time there were only two major battlefields I had not been to, Mannasas (Bull Run) and Antietam (Sharpsburg). I had the time so I toured Mannasas. I had the time and did not tour Antietam. Antietam is likely to forever remain a textbook memory for me, it is in Maryland. I fear visiting my own history because of the oppression in a fascist state.

ACLU in Virginia is on CHLers side regarding sharing of database such as with Maryland...

Two teenage brothers attacked and beat a 58 yo man to death at a crowded Maryland Fair after the man refused to give them a dollar. Both charged with assault and one with manslaughter, as they didn't mean to kill him. Charged as juveniles. Not a hate crime.

Bystanders took to the poor man's aid by whipping out their cell phones and recording the murder.

And yeah, guns are heavily restricted.

I've been to Maryland, NJ and IL. About the only thing worth seeing in any of them is the USS Constellation in Baltimore's harbor. Maybe it's time to put them on notice that we won't spend our tourism $ in theirs, or any other demo-commie state that opposes our 2nd amendment rights. Maybe the NRA should call for a tourism boycott of states that are unfriendly to the 2nd amendment. At least put them on notice. I'd love to see Hawaii, or rather, I wanted to see Hawaii about 20 years ago. No need now. ;-)

Michael Pacheco v. State of Maryland

Take a copy of this PRINTED OUT. Maryland SCOMA has shot down the "I Smell Weed" bull.

I also though SCOTUS had also dealt with it but apparently not.

You need to take IL off your list. Their CCL laws are very similar to Texas.

Illinois concealed carry permits are valid in the city of Chicago and city restrictions on handguns are preempted by Illinois state law..
