Here's hoping that Strauss' sleeping hours are plagued by dreams of Ann Richards.....

Your not going to find much support for ANY kind of armed populace amongst the very senior officers of the services. As they approach flag rank, their careers have to revolve around Washingon DC (known to me as the District of Criminals) and become immersed in the politics at the Federal level and almost universally, become "politically correct" in their behavior and ultimately, thought.

That McRaven has little regard for the Rights of the Citizen should not be a surprise and that he's actively working to thwart the ability for Citizens to defend themselves should be expected. After all, to those of that mindset, you have a duty to retreat and only "professionals" can be trusted with deadly weapons. Of course, government approved, trained and employed professionals.

What should be questioned is McRaven's suitability to continue as Chancellor of the University of Texas system.

If you're familiar with Colonel Hackworth, you'll recognize a "perfumed prince" when you smell one.

I respect the service of military and law enforcement 'officials' and 'veterans', however, I am not confident their credentials and professional experiences qualify them as experts on civilians' personal defense methods such as concealed-carry of handguns.

They don't. The training of the general military population on handguns is criminal. Most citizens would be astounded at the hoplophobia in the upper ranks. We fought them about it for years.

Certainly not supporting Straus...

I see Tan Parker listed as a Straus supporter. Something to keep in mind along with Tip O'Neill's comment that "all politics is local".

Texas AFT, which is affiliated with the American Federation of Teachers (founded in Chicago, currently headquartered in DC) and the AFL-CIO, boasts of having Straus and McRaven as allies in their opposition of campus carry.
Here's a link http://www.texasaft.org/texas-aft-oppos ... -campuses/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; but don't expect to find any facts there. As stated previously - this is about having control over others.

Straus has very very strong ties to the educrats at UT. They are all part of his gang of cronies.

So does Zaffirini.

Some good info here. http://www.empowertexans.com/tag/wallace-hall/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

So do I, and he is a lying tool. He ran on a promise to unseat Strauss. He has now been assimilated into the Borg. I've sent his office a couple of scathing letters demanding to know the justification for his change of "heart". (I put "heart" in quote marks, because I think that Capriglione is a lying, scheming tool, who was willing to say anything to get elected in a district in which the Tea Party has some local muscle. I am also privy to some other unethical campaign behaviors of his.

Good for him!

Sincerely!

We need more like him.

Do we have recall options like Colorada?

By the time the proceedings can occur, the session will be over and he'll be effectively out of the public eye until the next set of elections.

Interesting..... I just got off of a 22 minute long phone call with Giovanni Capriglione himself. I can't write it all down (we covered a lot of ground), but I am calmer than I was. If anyone else in his district wants to PM me with specific questions, I'll try to answer them.
