Joe, you're exactly right. Larger school districts often do not have a good handle on discipline.

Although I work for a large school district, my individual campus has a fairly tight leash on discipline. Despite a large number of students with a low socioeconomic status, the students have achieved recognized status with the state. I believe that if we would have allowed them too much slack, as many schools do, they would not have their current achievement levels.

Not to get too far off track, but the problem of violence and discipline in schools, not to mention outrageous taxation and regulation, really has a very simple solution.
