DPS doesn't expedite. You're wasting lots of time & energy & in the end only torchering yourself. I'd mark 6 weeks from the time you sent your documents on your calendar & call them at that time.

Yes, I am on my second set of multiple restraining orders. One is for him, then the club, associates of the club, people he works with, other known associates... they don't work, just sayin'

In other words you don't have to leave your pistol in the vehicle, so you have some protection while walking to and from and that might prove quite important...
Little things add up.
Yes, but I can't carry it from my car in the parking lot of my job to the building (I have been attacked in that parking lot twice). I can't carry it to or from my car into any public place - store/mall/restaurant - I have been attacked in that situation several times. I quit my gym because that was his favorite place to attack me.
So, if I could only go from my house to my car and no where else it would be all good. Restraining orders are only paper.

Have you tried talking to your rep? I'm wondering if he/she could possibly expedite it? I don't know if it's possible, but, well they can sometimes expedite passports, so....maybe, given the situation and depending on who your rep is?
I don't know that I have a specific rep, but I will call them again today and see what I can find out. I sent an email to my lawyer and the judge I've been dealing with to see if they can help. Both the judge and the lawyer suggested that I get the CHL because the ex and his "cronies" are so aggressive.
I believe SewTexas is referring to your State Representative.

I wouldnt mind at all if I was in Dallas. I had a friend in a similar situation as you. Please be careful also you might want to get a go pro or a some camera device to record your situation. It goes a long way in court.

I'm sorry I disappeared, I've been out of town. Yes, I meant your State Representative.

I would actually recommend a body camera. It really does go a long way, and I suggest it to everybody who's concerned about bad situations.
Here is an example:

If it was true, I hope she's OK. But as I read all the posts, I think I've seen this movie before.

Texsquatch,
"But as I read all the posts, I think I've seen this movie before"
By the above are you saying you've seen her exact story elsewhere or ...?
Or, she's just attention hungry or ...?
Or, get's the forum riled up only to leave as a mystery...or?
In a way, I hope she was faking her dilemma, as it sounded very bad.

Why is ther no security guard at the place of employment? If there is a known hazard of crime in their parking lot, do they not have some legal culpability? If they have no security guard patroling the lot, I think they might have some lawsuit exposure; if they do have a security guard, couldn't you call and ask to be escorted to and from your car due to the increased danger? How about taking a taxi or Uber to and from work for awhile? That puts you safely to and from the front door. There are options to hopefully avoid the kill or be killed scenario. Do everything you can to take away opportune moments for attack.
