The problem with giving them the opportunity to leave is that they might return more prepared in an hour, day, or week, possibly with accomplices, and the homeowner would have to remain vigilant and have their home guarded when away. In other words, once someone invades a home they are an ongoing threat that must be stopped and captured.Cotton D.
