And you know what they say about opinions, don't you?

Just because they don't have the 30.06 or 30.07 sign doesn't give you the right to carry on their premises. Just means you will have to leave when you get caught and you are supporting a business that doesn't want you to be there. No different than having a No Pets sign, or No Shirt, No Shoes, No service sign. IMHO
What I failed to mention was that I went in, dropped a "you lost my business today" card, and went somewhere else for lunch.
Why did they lose your business? Unless they asked you to leave you could legally carry there. Now if they asked you to leave that's a different matter.
They lost my business because, while the sign is not effective notice, I understand their intent. And a criminal understands by that sign that chances are good that those inside would be open season. I tend to stay away from "gun free" zones, legally posted or not.

I have to wonder, are they just ignorant and think they're covered here, or are they pandering to their ignorant gun hating customers to make them feel warm & fuzzy and knowingly allowing concealed carry with their unofficial signage?

Untuck your shirt and walk right in.......have all the soup you want. The sign is totally irrelevant for either open or concealed, but if you conceal you won't have some ignoramus yammering in your ear about effective notice.....

exactly.
I CC past non-compliant signs. What they don't know won't hurt them or me.

You have to remember that non-compliant is your opinion. Today I read about a perfectly legal sign that the "poster" said couldn't be read because of sunlight. I can promise you, in a court of law, that sort of "non-compliance" isn't going to hold up.

Carrying past a 30.06 is only a class C misdemeanor. I don't think that will make it to trial but IANAL & YMMV

Your opinion is duly noted.

The Wall,
Gun buster signs can be ignored, but if you think they're legitimate don't go in, the rest of us will...

What case law are you basing your legal opinion on?

Are we confusing the word 'opinion' to the word 'assume'

?

I think what The Wall is trying to convey is that the business has clearly stated they are not supporters of the second amendment, thus The Wall will not patronize such business regardless of sign compliance.
