Here's my budget long range gun. Ruger American predator .308
Nikon P-308 glass
nothing fancy, but it will git it done.

There is nothing wrong with getting the job done with nothing fancy. How does it shoot?Jketchum wrote:

I know you said guns, but thought you might like this Bolt Action device.

Shoots great, I haven't adjusted the trigger yet, might not. I think it's set at 4lbs. zeroed in at 100 yards. Moved out to 300 using the BDC reticle I was able to pop a 16oz beer can on the second shot! The Annoyed Man wrote:There is nothing wrong with getting the job done with nothing fancy. Deer. You're supposed to shoot the DEER. The beer is for afterwards.......Jketchum wrote:Moved out to 300 using the BDC reticle I was able to pop a 16oz beer can on the second shot!

Okay, here is the "good one". It's a Ruger American in .30-06, installed into a Boyd's Classic pepper laminate stock, topped with a Redfield Revolution 3-9x42mm scope. And its wearing a Ruger soft cheek rest and a basic folding bipod.

If you shoot a 'deer can', aren't you aiming at the wrong end?The Annoyed Man wrote:Deer. You're supposed to shoot the DEER. The beer is for afterwards.......Jketchum wrote:Moved out to 300 using the BDC reticle I was able to pop a 16oz beer can on the second shot!
