Haven't been there but looking at the area... Old West Cafe on NW Hwy in Grapevine stands out in the area. Looks like there is also one on 121 in Bedford. Their website reads like they only reserve their larger rooms M-F though. Anyone know anything more about the place?

I have eaten at the one in South Arlington. Good food and gigantic pancakes.

You guys probably need 3-4 different places to even remotely be in place for everyone. If you make them all a different week people could attend more than one if they wanted.

I would like to attend also, I am an hour east of Dallas though, last time I suggested this we met on HWY 78 south of Wylie. An hour drive no problem 2 is too far.
East side of Dallas, Plano, Allen, McKinney, Rockwall, Richardson ????
Would vote for lunch over breakfast.

How about splitting it up with I-30 and Tarrant/Dallas line? Each quadrant pick a few places in various parts of that quadrant and rotate through them.

I'm in, too. I'm not anxious to go downtown in either Dallas or Ft. Worth but if the location has reasonable parking close by, I could wave that. I think that the choice might depend on the size of the group.

I'm out west of Fort Worth. A location west of I35E would work for me when I'm in town ( weekends and Mondays and Fridays are best).

Right2Carry wrote:I would be interested as well. There is a great restaurant in Mansfield called Our Place that is really good. The only problem is getting in as it is always busy and only open 6-3. They serve those home cooked meals and portions.
It's 50 miles from my house, but Our Place works for me. It's that good.

I think LDB415 is right. All of the Forum members living in the greater DFW Metromess encompasses a HUGE area. It may be that we NEED to have 3 or 4 areas where it's convenient for people to get to. I for one, would find driving to Plano, or McKinney to far of a distance. Reverse that, and somebody living in Hunt county, would find the drive to Mansfield, or Fort Worth, to long of a haul. Of course, EVERYONE in the Forum is invited, that goes without saying. (I'm rambling, I know. Please forgive me. Old age, don't you know.

)
I've been racking my brain to find a suitable common place to meet, and I don't have one....other than suggest we have a separate Tarrant county & Dallas county breakfast to accommodate as many people as possible. Maybe I'm overthinking the problem....I dunno.
Here's some thoughts(continuing my rambling): Esperansa's is in the Ft.Worth Stockyards District. I've eaten breakfast at Esperansa's and it's fantastic! OTOH, there's a Cracker Barrel restaurant on HWY 360, between I-30 and 183 Airport Freeway that also has good breakfasts. The restaurant in Grapevine would be good for me. But perhaps not so good for someone coming from Johnson or Ellis counties.
So I"m left

In any event, let's continue the brainstorming.

Pardon my pointing out the thread title "Hey DFW people,

Since I live so far out west, it does not matter to me but I don't think one could get much farther
south than Mansfield and still be in the metroplex.
That said, as I previously posted, I am good anywhere... including Mansfield.
Let's eat!
Thanks for pointing out that it was Mansfield. I was thinking of Our Place Restaurant in Burleson since that's the one I'm familiar with. Mansfield is 15 miles closer.
I'm farther south than Mansfield, but closer to downtown Dallas than I was when I lived in either Plano or Frisco.

I think it's obvious that the metroplex will have to be split up and several restaurants used for get-togethers. I like the idea of spreading them out over the month so we could visit with more people.

I'm just a dumb ole (former) truck driver and from Houston to boot but what if you used I-30 or 183 to divide north or south and DFW airport to divide east or west. Everything in the Carrollton direction could meet the 1st whatever day of the month, Grand Prairie direction the second whatever, Forest Hill the third and Meacham Field the fourth. Or any variation on that of course. That would give a Hurst guy a chance to go to 2 or 3 of them if he wanted, etc.. Anyway, I'm just a trouble maker, instigating these wild ideas, so I'll (mostly anyway) leave you guys to it.
