I have no sympathy for the perp. However, I don't believe the shooting to be legal or justifiable. I personally would have a problem with the man discharging a weapon needlessly in my neighbor hood which could have struck one of my loved ones. He should have spent his time taking down a plate number.

The homeowner may end up with a "he needed shootin' " defense rather than a clear cut case of justification under the text of the law.
