Second 'guy' is no longer a suspect (Byron Wilson). Turns out he was a 'Good Samaritan' trying to stop the incident. He was shot by 'Garza' the lone shooter.

So far....no known motive for the shooting.

Prayers sent for all affected. I know the left will spin this as a gun control issue, but if the killer really was a vet and was suffering from pstd or some other mental health issue, it just demonstrates the failure of our VA system.JMHO

Here is another picture of the bag the shooter was carrying. Look at the ammo. It is .22LR. I wonder if his AR-15 was really an AR looking .22LR. That might explain how a woman was shot 5 times and survived.

Puzzling though. The bullet holes in the cruiser don't indicate 22LR, but I doubt it was .223 ammo, since it says one LE was saved by his bullet proof vest, but a 5.56 round will generally penetrate standard issue level III vests. That being said, I don't know all the specifics, and this is about the extent of any "armchair quarterbacking" I'm going to do.

They also said he had a pistol, so perhaps the pistol was a .22? Its all still speculation at this point, and we may never get all of the details.

The reports are so confusing. I saw several reports that said Byron Wilson shot at Dionisio Garza with a gun he was licensed to carry. I saw another report that quoted his wife as saying that he was not armed that day. In either event, it looks like he tried to help and I hope he makes a full and speedy recovery.

Same. I did some googling, but several reports contradict the other. I guess we'll find out eventually.

Very sad story. He was from California, came to Teaxas to visit a buddy from the war. Felt the world was coming to an end. Dollar was going to crash.

I've been off the forum for a while... Came back to see what was posted about this incident.

My wife and I were in LaGrange Sunday morning and got a call from our daughter that started with "I don't want to alarm you but I'm OK... There is an active shooter here and we're on lock down". She goes to church in the strip center adjacent to the detail shop and gas station. According to her account, the ushers at the church did a good job of acting quickly and getting folks who were in the parking lot into the church and then getting things locked up. Also, thanks to HPD for taking care of her congregation. They kept them updated and then escorted them out to their vehicles when it was all said and done.

This certainly reinforces the carry 24 X 7 or guess right theory...
