That is fantastic. Should the NRA make a similar statement? I think this is just a perfect example, showing that paper in some book in some courthouse won't stop criminals (in this case the producer and friends of anti-gun propaganda) from committing crimes.

I logged on and this caught my eye....and the first thing I thought was

WHO CARES

If this didn't say Katie Couric, would it even be relevant?

What's even funnier is I don't even know who she is, But I think shes a newswoman

I'm willing to bet money that charges aren't brought up either.
I think it's funny how they demonstrated that more laws don't magically stop criminals from breaking laws.
Why does the title say her "doc" violate the laws?

Maybe more accurately, they violated laws while making the doc. The documentary (their word) did not itself break the law.

I was on my phone using short hand somewhat... :leaving

Ok. I was thinking more like "doc" as short for doctor. Never heard it used as an abreviation for documentary so I didn't think of that.

I decided to be pro-active, FWIW.

I went to the BATFE "submit a tip" page:

https://www.atf.gov/contact/atf-tips

And wrote this:

Katie Couric's TV producer, Stephanie Soechtig sent a resident of Colorado, across state lines to Arizona to purchase several firearms without going through an FFL dealer.

I would urge every member of the forum to submit a tip re: Stephanie Soechtig's self admitted actions. I've heard that you shouldn't use hyperlinks when submitting a tip because the BATFE spyware won't accept the tip, other than that, feel free to write your own tip or copy mine. It doesn't take but 30 seconds. Will it help? I don't know, but remember we gun owners flooding the BATFE a year or so back with requests to not ban the "armor piercing" green tip 5.56x45 ammo? That worked...

Hahaha I didn't think of it being read that way either!

Well, it would have helped to have known who Katie Couric was and to have been aware of her "documentary" where they edited portions of it to make others appear foolish. Other than that, I can see how it could be interpreted either way.

A liberal "friend" of mine is already using this as evidence of how easy it is to obtain guns illegally and why we should have even stricter gun control. The producer, the buyer and the seller should all face federal charges, and maybe even Couric since she also had a hand in this. To just let it go would be totally wrong.
