My little backwoods bank has the Revolver in a circle with a slash across it, my CHL instructor said he told Butch, the bank prez, the sign was worthless, Butch just looked at him and cracked a slight grin.
I can only suppose Butch really does not worry about CHL people in his bank.

When businesses post non-compliant signs, I avoid bringing it to their attention.
They may post a compliant sign.
Otherwise, I figure it's reasonable to conclude that they don't
really want to ban CHL holders, they just want to placate ignorant soccer mommies.

I made a large deposit last week at the bank. I took mine off before I went in because I wasn't sure. Yesterday I asked the vice president of the bank and he said it isn't posted and we can carry. He said if it was a national bank I couldn't. But a state bank is ok. The banker I asked also owns the gunshop here in Brownfield and does the local CHL classes. I'm not quite sure about the national vs. state bank thing though.

I can;t find any statute that says a "National" bank is off limits. Was he talking about a federal reserve bank? We have one of those across the street, I guess this could be federal property...

I was under the impression that the 'state' and 'national' monikers were simply part of the name, not a symbol of status.

It also has to do with who they are regulated by.

I thought it was just a name thing too. I ordered a Taurus 605 from him yesterday. I'll ask him when I go to pick it up tomorrow.

Care to expand on that?
Edit: Nevermind. On re-reading the thread, it appears that you were just stating fact, not trying to allude that this would affect the legality of concealed carry.

When i lived in san
Antonio, the Jefferson State Bank on Fredricksburg Road had a sign ENCOURAGING CHL patrons to bank there. Very few robberies occurred. Great people, too.

Well I found out today the differences between national and state banks. National banks are regulated by the National Bank Act of 1864. State banks are regulated by the Federal Reserve System or the FDIC. It also regulates how much they lend and dividends they pay. But I still don't see any reason that would make it illegal to carry in one or the other. I'm putting a link to the website I got the information from.
