One other option you might consider is the Aero Precision OEM 5.56 rifle sold at Brownells. Its almost a complete rifle, but it still needs a buttstock and handguard. The biggest plus I see is that It saves you the hassle of swapping out the gas block, since this one already comes with a low profile version. You do have to buy a buttstock, but the cost is relatively the same as a LP gas block and you were already gonna add a free float quad rail.

Just got a flyer from Cabela's. On sale tomorrow, 6/23-7/4 at Fort Worth and Allen TX stores is a Ruger AR-556 for $629.99 ($70 off). Perhaps the other stores too. Hope this helps. At least with Ruger if you have a problem at all they have excellent customer service. I have a Colt LE6920 bought before CT at almost twice that price.

I built three AR's using Anderson and other parts - the basic rifle once built were in the sub $600 range - with my additions they were all around $700 because I like BCM and Magpul parts on the guns.
