The three terrorists were Russian and traveled to Turkey on Russian passports.
This was a surprise to me. They stayed in an apartment for a month in Istanbul before the attack. Installed a steel inner door on their apartment. All this takes financing. There may have been a forth person.
On a radio talk show this morning a spy craft expert said that if something like this happens in the world, positive to Russia, you would be naive to think Russia was completely not involved or was not aware it was going to happen. He said they had heavily infiltrated the radical Muslim groups in Russia.
One article I read, said the AK-47's were high velocity. They also carried Glocks.

Russian, Kazakh, and Uzbek technically. I'll just call 'em all Soviets and be done with it. Or maybe the 'Unified Team' a la the '92 Olympics.

My friend who is a pilot in Turkey reported to me
41 dead/167 injured.
He was 10 min. from the airport to report for duty when the explosion happened.
