Getting caught in a mob is a no win situation, best to look like a zombie and shout just like the crowd.

A mob around my car with wife and child in it with me is a situation I do worry about. Also car jacking.
If I were in fear for the life of my family and/or myself, then I would do whatever is necessary to extricate the vehicle from the mob. avoidance is the best option if at all possible.

Wasn't there a situation in NYC involving a fellow with wife and child in the car getting into some sort of problem with a motorcycle gang, or gaggle of a bunch of them?

Try to drive through any bad areas before noon, while they are still asleep.

No way I'd stop and risk some BLM thug trying to send my white behind to morgue. No sir. In that scenario I'll proceed to drive, windows up, doors locked, my gun out and ready, situationally condition red mental state.
They better move out of the way because I'm not.

A bag of snakes can also disperse a crowd pretty quickly.

What about those wheels with the dagger blades that stick out a few feet? Like Chariots in Ben hur.... Always thought they were a little gaudy but tactical might be better description. Throw in a big brush guard.
