I have had my Amateur Radio License since 1959. Currently have the Advanced class. If you value anonymity then don't list your call letters. Type your call letters in Google and see what comes up. I think you will be surprised how much stuff is there. Your address and location can be accessed. No problem at all if that doesn't bother you.

I just did this with someone who posted their call letters. You are right and that is wicked!

I learned long ago, there is very little anonymity when it comes to the interwebs and when government licensing is involved. It is scary how much info is available on us, especially those that use the same usernames on multiple forums and sites.

I discussed the proposal for a Ham Radio sub-forum with the Moderators and the consensus is that it would not be a good idea to create a sub-forum for something totally unrelated to guns, self-defense, etc. The concern is that it will lead to requests for other sub-forums such as motorcycles, RV's, prepping, etc. I think they were worried I'd be asking for a Corvette sub-forum too!

I think the Moderators' concerns are valid and it would be hard to refuse any future non-gun sub-forum requests if we create one for Ham Radio.

Point well taken, and in thinking the proposal through, I have to agree with you and the Moderators. It would set a bad precedent. But I thank you for even considering it.

so, can any of the current HAMs recommend a Texas-centric HAM forum in lieu of a sub-forum here?
