It has both valid 30.06 and 30.07 signs some 100 yard before the main entrance (while coming from the parking lot).

Yep, won't catch me going in there.

BTW, At the park I saw folks that they looked like ISIS guys with their families. Did it peak my interest, yes. Was I concerned? no.
Were they open carrying ak47s?

Why tell them he had a chl? To explain the magazines of course. Why take the magazines? I don't know.

First, no need for salty language.
Second, let us say I was testing the limits of my rights. However, since it was not the case,I did not expect security check. That is all. I was complying with the 30.06 and 30.07 sign posted in the parking lot.

None that I could see, but if I had seen some aggressiveness or any kind of trouble, I still had my trusty PX4 Knife. Attack is the best defense.

The best defense is staying out of victim zones to begin with.

The mags seem like they would best be left with the gun, but I don't begrudge the OP for "pushing buttons". I have been known to openly display my empty holster on the rare occasions that I have entered a 30.06 posted location.

It was the "veils". Beiruty, you and your group, were profiled. With absolutely no disrespect to you or your family; they, the guards, did the right thing. I suspect there are many, many 1,000's of grieving folk around the world who wish 'the guards' had taken a closer look.
It was not something you did, it was something the jihadists have done over and over again.
