Acenar would be one of the better Riverwalk choices.

The prices reasonable?

Yeah, it's not too bad. I'd say mid range. $25 a person before drinks.

Landrys isn't too bad. I enjoyed my last time there. Check out "The last word", its bar but they have a couple of great sandwhiches.

Acenar is mediocre at best. The interior is nice. A bit chilly inside that'll cause your food to go cold fairly quickly, but nothing to write home about. I personally love going to Liberty Bar, or Rosarios. Drink at the Friendly Spot. Just to name a few.

It's not on the riverwalk but the one "must stop" place for me any time I am in San Antonio is Rolando's Super Tacos. The beef tongue tacos are the best. It's a pretty blue collar place, not a fancy night out with the misses. In fact I would say, if you party too hard on the riverwalk, Rolando's is a good place to hit up the next morning!

I've driven from Houston and Lampasas areas to eat at these two places a few times, and will go back again

Haven't been to Casa Rio in a few years, but they had parking at 231 W Market St that was free if you ate at the restaurant. Otherwise it was $7. They only had about 30 or so spaces, so it could fill up on a weekend evening. It might be worth checking out.

The lot doesn't look free anymore. We paid 8 bucks to park last time down the road.

I think the Liberty Bar is great, but it's toward the pricey end by the standards of my wife and me. Maybe that says more about us than the place.
I have not been to Rosarios in a long time. I remember the food as good, but it was noisy and service was horrifically slow.

Never count on free parking in downtown San Antonio. Just accept that paying for parking is part of the price of whatever you're doing.
