You're not missing much. She's Bruce Jenner's step daughter. Her dad was Robert Kardashian, one of OJ Simpson's attorney's at his murder trial.anygunanywhere wrote:Who is Kim Kardashian?

Chrissy Teigen, James Corden and More Stars Defend Kim Kardashian After Paris Robbery.
Well, none of those people are going to be carrying a gun either! What great defenders!WildBill wrote:Be careful. I just read thatChrissy Teigen, James Corden and More Stars Defend Kim Kardashian After Paris Robbery.
Her "friends" are upset that people are making insensitive posts and jokes about the robbery.Scott B. wrote:Defending her after the fact? Or defending her as a human being? That may be the tougher row to...hoe.
When I first saw it. My immediate reaction was " she has that much money for jewelry".The Annoyed Man wrote:You're not missing much. She's Bruce Jenner's step daughter. Her dad was Robert Kardashian, one of OJ Simpson's attorney's at his murder trial.anygunanywhere wrote:Who is Kim Kardashian?
That is correct private security guards are not permitted to have firearms in UK, that includes the crews of armoured trucks collecting and delivering cash from banks. They are permitted body armour and wear helmets with visors to protect them from Mace and similar irritants but no guns and no tasers allowed. Firearms are now restricted to the military and selected specialist armed police officers and nobody else.ScottDLS wrote:In France it might actually be possible to hire armed security, but I've heard not possible in Britain...
Interesting. I suspect there are loopholes in the status of forces agreements with respect to US military personnel in the U.K. that allow them to be armed in certain circumstances. Also USSS agents that protect the President no doubt have diplomatic immunity. Perhaps it's a "don't ask, don't tell" situation.Noggin wrote:That is correct private security guards are not permitted to have firearms in UK, that includes the crews of armoured trucks collecting and delivering cash from banks. Certain important (but not all) politicians and of course the Royal Family have plain clothes armed police bodyguards. However even if you are a billionaire, in UK it is illegal for any private security you hire to have guns, they must protect their employers with whatever unarmed combat skills they may have.
As a follow up to that, the UK TV news services would always state that (during the visit of POTUS or other US politicians) the US Secret Service agents were required to be unarmed as having foreign armed officers on UK soil would be an infringement of sovereignty and therefore an international incident. Of course some people think this was only said to reduce public anxiety.
I don't believe much of anything that is printed about them, so I don't believe that they had $10 million worth of jewelry.philip964 wrote:When I first saw it. My immediate reaction was " she has that much money for jewelry".
I really have a hard time feeling sorry for people who suffer because of their own stupidity. This includes anti-gun people who find themselves unarmed and defenseless. I guess I am just not a very good person.Scott B. wrote:Nobody, not even an unsympathetic bag of bio-sculpted plastic, deserves to be a victim of a crime.
