Jusme,
Please tell me this is a joke: "Breaking news: Jewelry thieves calling for "Common Sense" gun control! Expanded background checks for jewelry store employees, and bans on "assault" weapons in the hands of potential robbery victims"
"Common Sense" gun control sounds like the mafia when they attempted to organize grass roots clubs to further their pr as 'good guys' who wouldn't hurt a fly. Let's help the crippled children and those out of work, and, and, ...
If not a joke: Are gun control dingbats behind this - Do you know? Or are the criminals stand-up comedians when they aren't try to rob jewelry stores?
Yes, yes, of course. Common sense gun control for criminals. We wouldn't want them to be hurt or successful would we....?
Paging, hrc, paging, hrc...

Alright, it's got to be satire.
Yep, I'm gullible.

Looks pretty gun friendly to me.
Chas.
Oh, I was agreeing. I found it funny (and great) that 3 of the employees fired back, owner with an AK. They picked the wrong store to rob.
Sorry, I misunderstood.
Chas.

Yes, I thought the laughing emojies, would be a tip off. It was definitely meant to be a joke, but the truth is no one benefits more from gun control than criminals.

Jusme,
I've got my monitor set up so I don't see emojies.
Or people's homegrown and/or adopted philosophies, photos of themselves or their personal way of signing off as seeing such repetition isn't for me.
I keep my read of posts as uncluttered with extraneous filler as possible.

Yeah you would think that if you were going to plan a robbery, you would want to check out the place first, I'm pretty sure the AK wasn't concealed in a pocket somewhere.
I guess they weren't members of MENSA.

I do however hope that either the police, his atty or someone he knows explains the sheer lunacy of point and shooting a rifle round through glass with no concern of the backstop. I could have been a full auto pistol and I wouldn't care, but. Rifle round over penetrating could have had disastrous results across the street.
Using FMJ ammo in any firearm is a significant risk of overpenetration (rifle or pistol). Using the right ammo even in a rifle can minimize that risk. I am not going tell anyone not to use a rifle because of overpenetration. I would just tell them to take care is what ammo is used.

Without more info we don't know if the rifle shattered the window, or a handgun. Without a floor layout and knowing where the shooters were standing, we don't even know if the window was shattered by the owner/employees, or one of the BG.
Obviously, whatever was was used, was effective on at least one BG. The other BG never hit anyone.

So, 5 thugs attempted the first robbery, and 4 robbers did this one the other day.
So much for anti-gunners saying that no one should need more than a 10 round magazine!!
Of course, with 20 or 30 rounds in his AK, plus the other employees' guns, this jewelry
store had the right tools for the job!!

First, what's her name in Paris. Now this.
When will we learn? This is basically about militarized bling no citizen needs. Train the police in proper runway vogue-ing and leave high wattage glitter to those who are trained.
I, for one, will happily turn in every multi carat diamond broach I own when they pass common sense jewelry regulation.
'Course I don't actually own any multi carat diamond broaches - the only bling I own is a Benchmade knife and a lovely-to-me 1911 - but since when has connection to reality had anything to do with "common sense" regulation?
