I'm used to a Glock 26 with extended ported barrel and using a Glock 17 mag with spacer soooo

I'm building a Glock 30S (The 30S is a Gen3 30SF body for smaller hands...with the Glock 36 narrower Slide and barrel)
with ...extended ported barrel and using a Glock 21 mag with spacer and +2 base plate for 15+1 capacity (it's lighter weight than my Stainess XD45 that has extended ported barrel, 13 round mag +2 baseplate for 15+1)

Got the idea after wishing for the new 15+1 Remington RP45 then thinking, hey, this would be better ... more versatile, carry shorter mags or whatever.

From LoneWolf:
PG-G45P2 PG +2 Grip Extension 45/10mm $9.49
LWD-3645P2 LWD Barrel M/36/30S 45 ACP Extended 2 Port $104.95
XG-GL29-30 XGRIP Magazine Adapter for Glock 29-30 $12.95
Glock 21 mags Black Friday about $18.00 each from CDNN

Oops. Neither XD has a manual safety. (Corrected)
my stainless xd has a thumb safety as well as grip safety and a "not legal in california sticker" I got it at a gun show for a price I couldn't resist

Then buy a para-ordnance double stack.

Seriously, you wont want to EDC it.....
I do carry a Para and I do EDC it! I have no problems what so ever, just make sure you have a Gun belt! :tiphat:

The H&K usp 45compact
is a great double stack. 10 rnds. My favorite is a compact 1911.

I've been considering getting the FNX-45 for weekend carry as I currently EDC their FNS-9. The end sticks out sometimes depending on what shirt I decide to wear.

As far as a .45 ACP compact goes I am not sure. I think if you want deep concealment you may want to stick with a single stack if you're wanting a .45 ACP. JMHO

It will be hard to find a compact model that holds 13 - 14 rounds. I think that the Springfield XDs that Beiruty linked are the best viable option because it comes with the 10 rd magazine and a 13 round extended magazine.

That is if you can find one with the thumb safety that you desire.

I was going to say a STI Gaurdian 2011 but see it's now only offered in 9mm. If you are willing to buy used, you can find a STI VIP .45... it's a 4" 2011 with officer's grip, Steel or LW frame and OH SO SWEET!!! Last I looked they were about $1500ish. 10 rd in the standard mag but longer mags availible

OOOooooo..... There is one on gunbroker right now for $1549 w/ steel frame. There is also a Costa VIP (full size grip & railed version) on GB for $2400

Do it, do it, do it!!!!!

The Annoyed Man wrote:I've owned a XDM45-Compact 3.8 for a while now. It's a nice gun and shoots real well......quite accurately, actually. I haven't carried it for a while since I went to carrying 9mm almost exclusively. But that said, it is about the size of a G19, a little bit heavier, and has a 9+1 round capacity with the short mag, and 13+1 with the long mag.

This is my EDC, conceals well in IWB. OP mentioned wanting manual safety, but XDm's have grip safety, which I like the extra level of safety it offers

This is my Para double stack

I HIGHLY recommend it. The LDA trigger is amazing and its right at 13+1

Para Tac Four, I have thousands of rounds through mine. Have replaced the guide rod spring and mag springs and it runs flawlessly with any ammo.

As long as you are OK with the weight (I am), then I see no down side to a high capacity .45 acp.

Been carrying my 13+1, a spare mag and a flashlight for 20 years now.
