"Caddy-wompus" isn't a real word. Just sayin'.
Correct usage would be "dingle-fritz" or "googley-moogely".
To the question: No, I've never heard of such a thing. "It just went off" is another way of saying "I messed up real bad".
Caddy-wompus is, in fact, a real Texas word, but it is usually considered bad form to use it east of Abilene or north of Highway 80....
Over in these parts, we use "Wonker-jawed" to describe the same condition.

For the bourgeois it is catawampus and has a similar meaning as wapperjawed. Neither equate to cata-corner.

I agree. Wapperjawed always meant crooked. This turned into a funny thread. Sorry for the derail there Mr. OP. But thats just funny, I don't care who I am!

The
Colt Mustang is a "cut down" version of the
Colt Gov't .380, which is itself a "kind of" mini-1911. Today it is also sold by Sig as a
P238, among other variants.
I used to own a 150th Anniversary Edition Colt Gov't .380. It was finicky as heck, and I never developed the habit of carrying it because I didn't trust its reliability. I eventually traded it in on the purchase of a Springfield XDM-45 Compact 3.8.

The closest I have seen to what you are asking is a "cook off", and I am not sure if that really applies or not.
I cannot understand how tapping a Glock Mag could pull the striker back and release it.

Nobody there could understand it either. These were early model Glocks made in the late 80s. But we all witnessed it. It fired six times in a row just hitting the bottom of the mag. Pretty scary.
