I went through a similar situation with my High Power (50,000 serial number range) in 1995. It failed to eject frequently with factory UMC and Winchester white box ammo. Long story short, after a local gun smith replaced the extractor, it was better, but it still fails to eject 2 or 3 times out of 50 rounds of the factory ammo. My situation is different in that my reloads using WSF, Unique, or AA #7 powder shoot and eject flawlessly. I finally concluded that my High Power was made in a time when factory ammo was noticeably more powerful, and it is not 100% reliable with current factory ammo.

I reload 9mm. 4.3gr of titegroup under 115gr plated X-treme bullets at 1.130". This load works perfectly great in all modern pistols. This HP was balking at me. :totap:
Plan
1) testing again with my reloads
2) Upping the load by 0.1gr to the max per Hodgdon and see which would min charge that would eject perfectly.

Some years back I had a ww2 HiPower and a case of ww2 ammo given to me, it was night and day different as to the power of the ammo had compared to modern ammo, another is try shooting some original 357 or 44 mag ammo compared to the off the shelf stuff now, you will see this even more so.

I sure wish I had the HiPower back! I traded it for a 3"m29 S&W, wish I had that also!

Try some NATO specs 9 in it.
