Chasing the badguys while zipping off rounds is a bit over the top, yes knowing whats beyond your target is applicable, but running and blasting is a bit irresponsible
Good on him..but I don't think unloading a mag at a fleeing car in the middle of a neighborhood is very good

While investigators said the homeowner was within his legal rights to fire on intruders, he may be subject to charges because he left his property to pursue the robbery suspects in his vehicle.
This happened at 2:30 in the morning, a time which is certainly "at night" . . . my question is, how does the law apply to
pursuit of a BG who's commited an "at night" offense?

The homeowner will be no billed unless it comes out that he is dirty.
Something about this incident hints at the idea that there is some kind of connection between the bg's and the homeowner. I can't quite put my finger on it. Just makes my Spidey Sense tingle a bit.
We shall see I guess.

When I read stories like this, I hate to judge the homeowner/crime victim. Most of us have never been in this situation, so we can't really say how we would react.
I do know this: my home is a sanctuary for me. Dh & I worked hard to purchase it, make it nice, and keep it peaceful. This is the place where children are tutored, Bibles are read, family time is spent, and a deep, peaceful sleep is achieved. In an evil world, this is one place that should be safe.
I can see where my blood may boil at the sight of four armed men breaking into my peaceful home, especially considering that anyone living or visiting here chooses to live a life away from criminal activity. I'm normally a peaceful and laid-back person, but I can see where someone invading my home might temporarily change my temperament.
