I had one once which also did that, so I cut away that section - any chance of you doing the same?
I am going to communicate with Crossbreed Holsters first. The area to be cut away was clearly marked by the Mag Release button. I am concerned about 2 things.
- Crossbreed is a good product but I want it to become a better product.
- After cutting away the offending leather. The problem with the mag ejected on every holstering of the pistol, could change to an intermittent problem with the mag ejecting on the draw. I would hate to draw a single shot .45 in a stressful situation.

Just my personal preference but I like Kydex over leather (although I've only owned a couple of IWB leather holsters before but didn't care for them). Kydex is more rigid and allows for better retention and reholstering (something that the two leather IWB holsters I had were not good at). Also Kydex doesn't retain moisture like leather does which is something I'm concerned with carrying a gun constantly while at home, working around the yard, gym, etc.
For my 1911's, I have Kydex holsters for them as well as a Safariland ALS. My personal favorite for my Government size 1911 is a Comp-Tac Locking Paddle. It's slightly different than their current paddle holster but I feel it's a superior design. Very comfortable and secure considering the weight.
What exactly is wrong with the Safariland? Will they not warranty it? Although I have no idea what their warranty is like.

For kydex I like RDR holster. They even have a special with 2 free mag holder right now with the purchase of a holster. My last IWB holster was under $50 including shipping.

The holster is about old enough to vote. It's had some hard use and is just worn out. I'd buy another one but Safariland no longer makes that exact holster.

Ahh... What's different about it? I like mine but the ALS is a little hard to manipulate without hitting the safety off. Other than that I love it.

I finally pulled the trigger on the The Texas Short Stroke from Tucker & Byrd
https://www.tuckerandbyrd.com
It has a sweat shield, FBI Cant, and is made in Texas. All nice features.
Thanks for all the suggestions.

Will do.
It should be at least 3 to 4 weeks for the holster to arrive.
