I saw a study some time ago where they ran people through a shoot house, one group with SA and one with DA, to see if there would be a difference in response to sudden stimulae. The DA group pulled the trigger almost as often as the SA group "shooting" about the same number of innocent bystanders. Can't find the study but it suggests that DA versus SA isn't that big a difference in preventing "accidental discharges".

Thst is not an accidental discharge, that is poor/panic decision making.
