You surely deserve the citizenship. I'm happy to (soon) call you a fellow citizen of the United States

And it's an awesome ceremony and a privilege to attend. I think if more people were able to experience it we'd all be better for it.LDP wrote: Tue Oct 22, 2019 2:59 pmJust FYI, if you get the invitation to the ceremony, the time on the invitation is NOT the time of the ceremony.AndyC wrote: Tue Oct 22, 2019 12:38 pm Apparently I'll hear within 2 weeks where/when the swearing-in ceremony will be![]()

Since they usually invite thousands and thousands of people, they send out invitations with different times, ranging from let's say 8am to 11am.
The lines to get in and park are long and cause traffic congestion for miles. Then there are lines to get into the building.
Once you get in, you sit on bleachers for hours, waiting on the ceremony which starts sometime after lunch (could be 1pm).
Bring a lunch for sure. Bring something to drink.
The ceremony itself isn't that long, maybe an hour. But you will need to waste a whole vacation day anyway.
Once the circus is over, they hand you your naturalization certificate and you are finally allowed to leave.
And no, the INS won't agree to mailing you your certificate or allowing you to pick it up at their offices. You gotta do the whole circus thing. Most families love it and live for it.
The good news, the ceremony is performed at a big place that can house thousands of people, such as a sporting arena. So it should not be posted 06 or 07.
Enjoy!
