What is your status online? Does it still say "processing application"?

Yes it does. So perhaps the online piece is not updated as qucikly as the true process? Or the response email I got last night was just smoke and mirrors.

I called again today and I was told that the person who had my folder has been out for a few days. Supposedly, they'll be back tomorrow. Awesome.

I think it's all horse poo. I can't imagine that they are that disorganized that a single individual is responsible for certain apps? They seem to always have some isolated excuse.

I called AGAIN today to talk with the person who has my file. They were still out sick, so I asked to talk to whoever takes over their files if they can't handle them. They told me that nobody takes over their files. Does that mean that if the person who has my application becomes terminally ill, I'll have to refile? It's well past the 60 day mark and I'm starting to get a little irritated. I know I'm not the first, but still.

Anyway, I hope none of y'alls files are taken care of by the same person who is doing mine!

I wish I could be surprised at your treatment.

Might I suggest a call to your state rep is in order? Tell them that the DPS isn't following the law. And if you don't want to call your rep - try Suzanna Hupp or Ron Paul.

Well I guess it wasn't horse poo. I checked just now and....

"Application Completed - license issued or certificate active"

If that is the case, and they truely did not actually start on it until they entered it in the system (~12/21), then it only took 34 days to process (26 business days) including the holidays!

But the clock starts when they receive the application. The day it gets to their office either in the mail or hand delivered (like I did), not the day they get it entered into the system.

Glad you got the message change though - wahoo!

Hmmm, still nothing in the mail.. Any one have any thoughts on the website being updated and actually getting it in the mail?

When I called and asked about my renewal on Dec. 12 I was told it was mailed on 12-09. I received it on 12-15. So it took six days from the day it was mailed to get to me.

Quick question-

I had to have my fingerprints redone. How long after they recieve the new set do you think my application will be finished? It was 53 days when my status online changed to reflect missing information (fingerprings were bad) and tommorow marks my 59th day. They recieved the fingerprints this past Friday (USPS tracking). Any thoughts on when they will get these into the system and get my stuff finished?
