Wife went to "Background Check : Completed" today
4/28 - Docs mailed
5/20 - Online status updated, "Background check: Under review"
6/3 - Background check completed. Manufacturing pending.

Online application and class the last week of April. Fingerprints and mailed 5/2. Plastic in hand 6/6. I'm going for a motorcycle ride and take my Springfield xd9sc along for some company!

I'm frustrated enough with my CHL delay to finally join this forum to rant. I had my CHL from 2004-2009 when it expired because I could not return to Texas (out of state military) to take the renewal class. I had to retake the whole course, get fingerprints, and reapply while passing through TX on my way to another assignment. I applied the first week of April and have been at "Background Check" for 4-5 weeks. I sat on hold for 35 minutes before speaking with someone at DPS today to find out why it's so slow. No luck. "It's normally just slow", they said.
I've already been through this before. I think there should be a better renewal process for out of state military residents.
