I was at my Wally World yesterday and was surprised to see that CCI Blazer Brass .45 FMJ 230gr (50) was still 14.97 a box. Reliable ammo for a decent price considering what WWB is going for nowadays. Picked up a couple to add to my stockpile.

Dick's Sporting goods currently has Remington UMC on sale at various discounts deoending on the caliber.

.45 is $14.98 per 50
9mm is $9.98 per 50

Both of these prices are based on buying a case (10 boxes), so add $1.00 to each for individual boxes.

There are also other calibers on sale as well. I believe that the .223 was $10.98 a box based on buying a case as well. Whew, I can't believe that's a sale price for .223 :mad5 .

Make sure to have the "Lodge" call down and tell the cashiers the proper pricing. The Frisco store didn't have the correct pricing in their computer so they overcharged me and it took me an extra 10 minutes to get it straightened out.

fwiw:

guy on gunbroker.com is still selling Speer Gold Dot 135gr .38 +P ammo for .30/round in 1000 round bulk.

That's the same price as RWB at Wallyworld.

I just snagged 500 rounds at .32/round for practice ammo.

That's the same ammo I buy. I just picked up 20 boxes the other day as a hedge against inflation.

I've never seen wally world place their ammo on sale like that. How often do these $19/100rnd deals happen?

And does anyone know if walmart managers are open to arranging any price discounts if you buy ammo in "bulk," or is it not worth trying?

I read a post here or maybe on one of the other forums where a fellow was saying he got a wally world manager to give him a discount for bulk. I asked at the Wally world in Plano and the guy said..."nope the prices are the prices" and walked away. I just figured it was because this wally world is in Plano. Everything cost more here.

Which one was that? The one at Ohio and 121?

It was the one at Spring Creek and Central in West Plano. It was uncomfortable at best. The guy acted a little like I offended him by asking for a quantity discount.

I buy most of my practice and plinking ammo online now. Ordered 3000 rounds 9mm CCI Blazer from Natchez, 1000 rounds 9mm Gold Dot off Gunbroker, 1000 rounds of 380 off ammoman.

The place where I consistently find the best prices is good old Academy. I usually wind up shooting Monarch because my friends can't reload the aluminum Blazer casing.

That's the best price I've seen all year. I wish we had a local Academy.
