Thanks for providing a little hope D_hardy. My application was accepted on the same date as you and my background is still under review. Hopefully it's coming soon.

Just a little update....

4/5 - Submitted Online Application
4/6 - Took Initial CHL class with proficiency test
4/9 - Electronic fingerprinting completed
4/9 - Mailed the rest of the required materials to the DPS (opted for them to use my DL photo instead of submitting passport photos)
4/10 - Received confirmation of delivery to the DPS

5/1 - Website still lists my status as "Application processed online. CHL is waiting on the receipt of required materials."

Hopefully they'll update my status sometime this month...

Today is the 64th day that all of my materials have been in DPS's possession. Seems our Gov could loosen up some of those excess tax $ to hire some additional staff?

And BTW, some representative or senator proposed legislation to get the fingerprinting services closer to all applicants. Seems like a great idea to me.

According to the DPS site, my plastic is in the mail. No telling how long it will be now....

From time of their receipt to their mailing it has been 66 calendar days. Now it is up to the post office...it is the post office that has me worried.

Oh well, if that is my biggest problem, I am blessed.

2/28-DPS received paper application and complete packet.

5/2-First update and in the system, fingerprints scheduled for 5/6

For what it's worth... I dropped my complete application in the mailbox on 2/11 and received CHL in the mail today, 5/2. I'm not a mathematician, but I think that's 80 days.

I've only been waiting 3 weeks for my renewal status to change to show receipt of paper work. I had hoped that things had changed in the last 5 years. I had to write to my congressman to get the initial application processed.
