Yes on occasion our filter stops some things that are lagitament. We are thank ful for our standards for it really encourages the ladies to post & my 10 yr old granddaughter can read over my shoulder.

I've been on the forum for awhile, but don't post too much. I figure that its time to introduce myself to everyone. I'm a 25 year old male living in the DFW area with my wife and our new lab puppy. I have been carrying for over a year now and recently added the Utah CFP to my Texas CHL. I typically carry a Glock 30 in a CTAC on a 5.11 belt, but depending on the clothing and situation I'll go to my PM9 or P3AT. I haven't carried my Llama 1911, partially because it's a fullsize, partially because I don't have complete trust in it. I'm a member of the NRA and the Dallas Pistol Club and would be interested in meeting up with fellow DPC members sometime.

I would also like to thank Charles, the mods and all of the members of this forum for making it such a great place to learn about CHL, etc. I think that the members of the site, as well as the way that it is run make for a great example of responsible and respectful gun owners.

Greetings to all. I have been a member of some other gun forums but am new to this one. I am very happy to find it, I think it is an outstanding resource. I am a 57 year old pilot living in Spring, Texas. I retired from a major airline only to go back to work for a charter company flying DC-10s. Married 33 years with kids and one grandson. I hunt deer and doves and have had my CHL since it's inception in Texas. I enjoy every kind of firearm. I like 1911s but am very partial to Sig pistols. My brother is a Texas LEO who currently resides in East Texas. I am looking forward to all I will surely learn from this fine group.

Years CHL: On 4/12 receieved the news that all backround checks are finished, prints are good, we just need the final processing to happen, the DPS guy (very nice and helpful) would not hazard a guess as to how long that would take.

Well, I've never bobtailed a 1911 before (only 7 months into the career) but if you're willing to bring it down to the shop I'd be happy to bumble about doing one for you.

But first, a few questions you should ask yourself:

1. Am I masochistic? If I need a referesher I'll go to my school material and/or read up on Jerry Kuhnhausens' books. At the worst, I'll take a junk gun and play with it so I'll learn something).

4. (My favorite) Do I enjoy subtly teasing the stupid while wishing I could go to their home and seize all their guns so they don't hurt themselves or do something else incredibly stupid? (Like the police officer who shot himself in the foot while going onto our range on a date with his girlfriend whom he was cheating on his wife with, the wife subsequently found out her husband was cheating on her when she called us up to find out how her husband shot herself in the foot).

If you answered YES to all the above questions, then YOU need to enroll for a gunsmithing course and begin your career as a gunsmith!!

i think i can handle it
it doesnt sound much different from my other jobs
i bet it pays better though

It pays better depending on what company you're employed with. Right now I don't make too much, but I'm also in need of more experience, and I make enough to get by so I'm fine for now.
