stevo wrote:Hey guys, I'm new to the forum but recently sent off my application for my CHL. Class was taken 09-12-2009, app mailed to DPS 09-14-2009 and was delivered 09-16-2009. I have been assigned a PIN and check it more than I should each day, waiting for the status to change. Hopefully it isn't too long of a wait, but hey we're talking about DPS here.
Don't be too hard on them...they were good to me :coolgleamA:

Seriously though, Welcome to the forum!!!!

This is great!!!! I checked the site about 10.00am and here is the result:

Application Completed - license issued or certificate active

I thought mine would take longer being form the Houston area, I am so glad it didn’t drag on.
Thanks for all your support. I will be around to shoot the crap with you; I’m not leaving just joining the ranks of the accepted.:patriot: :txflag:

Congratulations Seadog, I really like seeing these "short" processing times lately! Maybe I'll have mine in another 4-6 weeks instead of towards the end of the year like I was originally expecting.

I've considered adding an LCP to the stable from time to time since it's so easy to conceal. Feels pretty good for such a small gun and I've seen them at the Saxet show for under $300 but I haven't seen any .380 ammo anywhere in quite a while. Where are you guys finding something to feed your Elsie Peas?

Found out today that the STATE sent the wrong forms to the CHL instructor - seems they sent him some forms that were not to be used until after Sept. 1 without indicating as such and our class was on Aug 22. Now the State has to send the "old" forms to our instructor so he can issue the correct ones. The State is sending our application packets back so we can resend with the correct forms. I figure this will delay everything by at least 6 weeks. :mad5 :cryin :bigmouth

We were in a large class - so there are about 30 or so people other than me and my DH who are in the same boat. Wish the State would just say "Oh - sorry!" and just process the blasted applications!

:blowup

Oh wow ES4Me! That's bummed me out for the night! So sorry to hear that.

That is so dumb to void forms for the entire class for using those forms 10 days to early. :grumble :bigmouth

Unbelievable!
