Absolutely!! Being able to turn on the phones, faxes and emails are critical to a successful legislative session and this doesn't happen of people don't respond. Thanks to all of you for not letting the proverbial "other guy" do the work.
Time will tell how much latitude presidents will be given in making locations off limits. If they put everything but the outhouse on the list and get away with it then not much has been gained. I've been planning to announcer the new initiative this Tuesday, but the suggestion was to do it at a dinner event at a location that seats up to 200 people and record it. (This was brought up after I posted my invitation to have a debate/town hall meeting.) That way we can have the initiative explained and take questions from the floor. We can also talk about this legislative session. Then, all of this will be available on the Internet.
If there's enough interest, I'll put it together. However it is announced, I really excited about the new initiative and the difference it can make in grassroots activism. Hopefully Texans all over the State will share my enthusiasm.

I suspect this is why Birdwell did not try to strip out the amendment in conference committee.Recommendation 13: Allow CHL holders to carry weapons on campus at institutions of higher education, subject to appropriate limits, at the option of the boards of regents of public institutions of higher education, and the internal decision-making of private institutions of higher education.
