Yep. TxRedbone who posted right after you on this thread got his packet to DPS 1 day ahead of me, got status a week ahead of me and has already had his plastic printed and in the mail.

Wasn't there an old song about "what a difference a day makes." :banghead:
lol I sent mine in 20 days before he did..... still waitin.

You should probably see something on Saturday morning, both of my updates happened sometime overnight Fridaynight into Saturday and status was about 3 weeks from receipt.

Don't worry, it sometimes takes a while. I mailed mine on the 1st and didn't get status till the 30th.

:anamatedbanana :anamatedbanana :anamatedbanana Plastic arrived yesterday!!! :anamatedbanana :anamatedbanana :anamatedbanana

Today I started my first day as a legally armed citizen by doing the ATM amble, moved on to the repair shop shuffle to get my inspection done, then on the the legendary Wally Walk to pick up a new knife, and topped off my morning with a Wataburger Waddle. After work, the wife and I went on my "official" Wally Walk where I grabbed stuff from the top and bottom shelf, hefted a 40# bag of dog food into the basket, and stood in the impatient husband position while she tried on shoes. We picked up the obligitory Hawiian shirt, then I dropped some stuff on the floor and had to do the self conscious bend at the knees to pick it back up. Really the Wally Walk(s) were the easy part, I was much more self conscious at Wataburger.

yes indeed, congratulations!! Given that we are in Texas perhaps all Wally Walks should end with a celebratory Whataburger Waddle :

Man, I submitted my paperwork as a veteran ($70 is an awesome deal) and I'm still waiting. DPS received it on June 4th and I've had status for about a month now. Still pending review.

I am really beginning to despise the words, "background check under review."

I myself really don't like the "application: received" because that's the first thing I see when I log on to check. Either way though, I feel your pain.

:iagree:

Is it just me, or does the wait for background completion seem to drag much more than the wait for status?
