I was surprised that CNN went as far as they did to report this part of the story. Surprised me.

Report from Libyan officials that the benghazi consulate was warned 3 days before attack that extremist insurgencies were on the rise in the area . Anderson Cooper is shaking his head, although rightly warning that this could be Libyan officials covering their bootys .
Thanks Beiruty. I had read some partial, related facts, but not the whole story like this. I remember when the pictures first came out of Stevens' body being carried, everyone assumed they were parading around his corpse. And then the facts came out, like you have quoted, that in reality these civilians were trying to save him. It makes me wonder if they were part of the protest group? That would be ironic. And it would also prove that the assault on the consulate was done by another group. Regardless, it is refreshing to know that in the midst of all the chaos in Libya, there are many good men like the ones mentioned in that article.Beiruty wrote:A good read from first hand witness of those who attempted to rescue US Ambassador in Libya:Full report: http://news.yahoo.com/video-shows-libya ... 48880.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; They have said preliminary reports said that amid the evacuation, Stevens and foreign service officer Sean Smith were inside the consulate with a regional security officer. They got separated in the smoke. The security officer and others went back in to try to find the two of them and found Smith dead. They pulled him out but flames and gunfire forced them to flee before they could find Stevens.
Al-Bakoush and his colleagues said that once they learned his identity, they were stunned Stevens had been alone.
"I've never seen incompetence and negligence like this, from the two sides, the Americans and the Libyans," he said. "You can sacrifice everyone but rescue the ambassador. He is the ambassador for God's sake."
Here is the evil, stupid financier, the fraud man, who claims to be Christian, the enemy of God and his Prophets and Messenger. The one who used a porno-movie director to make the film. The least IRS can do is audit from where the 5 millions came from and if he ever paid a single cent as a tax on those 5 millions.ClarkLZeuss wrote:Thanks Beiruty. This culture of shouting and killing those with whom Muslims disagree must end. When the Prophet Mohammed's companions shouted "Allahu Akbar," (meaning "God is Greatest," a popular slogan for those yelling outside embassies today) the prophet reprimanded them saying "Our Lord is not deaf."
Bergen: Extremists and leaders incite violent protests
When a Bedouin Arab entered the most sacred mosque of the prophet in Medina and violated its sanctity by urinating in this place of divinity, the prophet cleansed the mosque himself and forbade anybody from even reprimanding the Bedouin, let alone attacking the man. This is the way of the Prophet Mohammed. Where is this spirit of mildness, forgiveness and compassion amid Islamist activists today?
I say let the marines and security fight their way out, and let the diplomats talk their way out of foreign trouble."I've never seen incompetence and negligence like this, from the two sides, the Americans and the Libyans," he said. An Iranian man recently granted asylum in the U.S. after converting from Islam to Christianity told FoxNews.com he still fears the long arm of the rogue regime in Tehran.
The man, whose name is being withheld, said he fears hardline Muslims could come after him, even in the U.S. The regime in Tehran has recently vowed to "hunt down" the makers of an anti-Islam film trailer and has upped the price on novelist Salman Rushdie's head for offending the religion. Because apostasy - renouncing Islam - is punishable by death, the man told FoxNews.com he lives in fear.
"If I want to go to a Christian church in Iran the secret police will recognize and arrest me since they will check my background and know that I was a Muslim."
- Iranian Christian convert who recently won asylum
"I feel if I reveal that I converted to Christianity, the Muslims here may retaliate against me," the man, who is in his early thirties, said in an exclusive interview. "In many verses in the Koran, Muslims are told to kill, behead, cut fingers, or severely arrest and tie the kafirs," or nonbelievers.
I thought we're not allowed to debate religion here.Beiruty wrote:Here is the evil, stupid financier, the fraud man, who claims to be Christian, the enemy of God and his Prophets and Messenger.
