I don't think we have serial numbers yet (though sometimes it seems like we're getting close with all the stuff SS#s are used for now).

I guess the Director agreed with majority here. According news reports Trooper Kelly Helleson had been fired.

Do you have a link? I can't find any news on her termination only found info for her suspension back December 10.

I seen it on NBC 5 Dallas. I do not how to put in a link from this IPHONE. :banghead:
The female Texas trooper who performed a roadside cavity search on two Irving women will be terminated according to the Department of Public Safety.

Sorry for the short response. I was on my IPHONE and I still don't know it well.

The DPS Director is Steve McCraw and he is retired FBI. I am sure he is not looking forward to last disciplinary review board and the testimony that will be given.

I am pretty sure that DPS will see new policy coming down. In fact they probably already have.

Only fired - not prosecuted because 'she was only following orders/policy'?

If her actions were carried out as per orders/policy are higher going to roll?

Or, is this a case where DPS thought they'd find out how far they could push the public...?

Helleson should NOT have been the only fired in this situation. Is there a civil rights case being made of this?

I agree. Trooper David Farrell should have been fired too.

I agree...He told Helleson "they're acting weird", when any reasonable person could see that the women were acting perfectly normally. I still maintain that "acting weird" was code for "bring out the Gimp".

It appears that both troopers have been brought up on criminal charges.

http://dfw.cbslocal.com/2013/03/22/two- ... two-women/

The female trooper was indicted for two counts of sexual assault and two counts of official oppression. The male was indicted for theft of a prescription bottle of hydrocodone from the car.

I am sure I'm not the only one that contacted their elected officials (at least I hope not). I can speak for the office of Jim Pits. His staff not only listens they act. Aaron Gregg is the Chief of staff for the Senator and I also heard from his legal analyst. Below is the email I sent and later his response. Regarding this case, law and order seems to be prevailing.
God Bless Texas

Mr. Sullivan,
Thank you for your kind words, sure makes it easier to sit up here trying to wrap things up at 10:20 to know that our work is actually doing some good out there.

Again, I really appreciate you taking the time to follow-up with me. If we can ever be of assistance in the future, you have but to ask.
Best Regards,
Aaron Gregg
Chief of Staff
Rep. Jim Pitts

Dear Mr. Gregg,
Some time ago I sent an email to the Senators office and you gave me a call to acknowledge receipt of the email and explain that you listen to concerns of Texas citizens.

The topic sir was that 3 Texas DPS officers were on scene on the side of the highway with two women while one of the officers (a women) performed a search by putting her hands down both of the women’s pants and touching private parts. An act I personally felt was so far over the reach of law enforcement officers that it reached absolute violations of unreasonable search described under the fourth amendment.

I saw on the news tonight that the female officer was fired and one of the male officers is still on unpaid leave.

Mr. Gregg I want to thank you for listening to me and I hope your office or Senator Pitt’s himself was involved by contacting the DPS and discussing what a police state looks like.

The bottom line, is a line was drawn. and DPS Officers know crossing it means unemployment.

I must say….I’m impressed with the way your entire office is run.
You folks make me proud of TEXAS!!!!

Just being fired isn't justice for those they preyed upon.
