The problem I see you having in Round Rock is that many of the citizens are Kalifornia immigrants. They very well may applaud the officers for violating your rights.
I guess I'm confused. Most of California wants all laws involving crime repealed. Simple citation for marijuana etc. How is it that immigrants want the return of the Gestapo? I guess I'm just too simple.
Sorry ... didn't want to off track the thread. Talking to the Mayor and Chief would be excellent ideas - as would sending them copies of the applicable laws.

the "Kalifornia" business is highly exaggerated.

That in itself is the amusing part of it all. They want free love, free dope, free immigration any perversion one can think of, but they sure don't want citizens to have guns. I agree with you...it is real weird.

Just for the record, nothing about Kalifornia and it's socialists ways is exaggerated. I will admit that not all Kalifornians are socialists, but don't even think about trying to argue that Kalifornia is somehow moderate.

Not really. My home state was completely changed after two decades of California immigration (I won't post any more on that again, sorry for my earlier error).

NO -- that wasn't what I was trying to say. I was talking about the implication that all Californian's (and especially EX-Californians) want to eliminate guns (and other liberal policies). California as a whole has not been moderate for a number of years (decades?). However, at one time -- like when I move there in the late '70's -- there was a republican governor (I don't count Arnie as republican), and the influence of the LA hispanics/illegals and SF Fruits/Nuts were outweighed by the far more conservative rest of the state.

While I agree that not ALL are wanting to bring their socialist ways to areas they move, many of them do. I have met and known many Kalifornians and in just about every case, they believed their mission in life was to educate poor dumb Texans. They came off as if they had special twinkling dust that made them more enlightned than the rest of us. Now you may be different, but if you ever made this comment, "In Kalifornia, We did it this way". You may not.

IF I ever made a statement like that, it was to point out how much BETTER it is in Texas. As in "Well, in Kalifornia we had INCOME TAX!"
And I know MANY who, like myself, moved out of Kali to get away from the increasingly socialist tendencies.

My brother had to live there for two years as a job assignment. He often kids around about how he had to move back to Texas before he committed murder....LOL. Some of the stories he tells of the "political correctness" are just frustrating to hear. The labor laws he was having to supervise under made getting the project done near impossible. I will agree that there are folks who moved out of that country to seek freedom and we welcome these Kalifornians with open arms.
OK...now I will stop...for real this time.

Oh there IS one thing that is more moderate in (Southern) Kalifornia than in Texas!!!
And always will be!

The rat theory has come up here before but I highly doubt it.
I'm curious, if they had seen it while you were there, why they would wait until you left to confront you about it.
I was wondering the same thing.
If an officer really thought there was a danger presented in any given situation, I have always assumed they would handle it immediately to prevent any escalation.
In this case, he allowed to get in a vehicle which itself could have been used as a weapon or could have been loaded with weapons or alot of dangerous things that he and/or others then would have been subjected to.
I believe he handled this situation poorly from the begining.
It sems to me he is in need of some retraining.

They would want to wait until he was out of the building to minimize the risk of innocent bystanders getting shot. For what ever reason, they severely over reacted. They probably had him pegged as a mass shooter. He is probably lucky he didn't put his hand near the weapon. Barney Fife may have shot him from the other side of that mirror.

So I guess "Security Guard" says it all.

Of coarse we may never know for sure why they waited. Maybe it was just coincidence that the BG

got out of there before the posse showed up, leaving them with no option other than a street take down. Maybe they were filming for an episode of cops and writing tickets to college students didn't present enough action. After reading about the swift reaction from these key stone cops, I feel much safer walking the streets of Round Rock.
