Lodi is a small town in the central valley of California where you do not want to be stuck. Especially in the summer.

My desktop computer is finally giving in so I started backing up all the music I have stored on the drive. There's so much of it on there that I haven't listened to some in a long time. I came across this song today, it's one of my favorites;

He sounds like he could use some more practice. ;-)

I still like Bo Diddly, The Kingstron Trio, The Brothers Four, CCW, Peter, Paul and Mary, Jimmy Reed, Joan Baez, The Animals, Vaughn Monroe, Frankie Lane, Willy Nelson and Garth Brooks, The Statler Bothers, Andy Griffith, et al/i].

Music died when The Beatles, and other noxious metallic noise makers, were allowed into, and to remain in, the colonies.

I went to a Bo Diddly concert in college. Admission was $.25.

"Turn you back on the land face the sea"

In western literature, water is often a euphemism for death. When I first hear this song, I though she was singing to a dead lover. Other member on the Celtic Woman forum say the words are literal. That in Irish history many young men left never to return because of the famine. They often left family and lovers they would never see again.

"Don't look back when you reach the new shore. Don't forget what your leaving me for."

I'm not sure which theme is more sad or touching.
