The judge isn't going to let in the ME's new opinion that the marajuana in TM's blood could have had an effect on TM?

Unrelated, but for some reason this reminds me of Los Angeles' old ME, Thomas Noguchi, known as "The Coroner to the Stars" for all the celebrity autopsies he performed: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Noguchi.fickman wrote:I felt a little bad for him. . . I don't think he's being misleading or coy. . . he seems to feel a huge weight or responsibility to be accurate and has significant anxiety over public speaking, so he spent over 100 hours reviewing his reports in preparation for the testimony. Nobody told him they have a right to see any written notes. Forgive me for brushing with broad strokes, but there's probably a reason he chose to spend his days in a quiet lab with deceased people instead of, say, in outside sales or as the next Dr. Oz.sjfcontrol wrote:The ME has his own notes, since he can't remember ANYTHING about the autopsy. The court has taken the notes, and the lawyers are now reviewing them. The ME didn't want to give them up. So now the lawyers know what he thought might be important. He stated he made the notes as answers to questions the defense might ask.
I have a close friend from Japan who has the same nervous mannerisms and penchant for dogged preparation.
Regardless, that was a pretty captivating moment.
This trial is just FULL of potential for an appeal to declare it a mistrial.sjfcontrol wrote:The judge isn't going to let in the ME's new opinion that the marajuana in TM's blood could have had an effect on TM?
Kind of mind boggling, isn't it?A-R wrote:I did not believe the judge was necessarily biased against the defense until now. The prosecution witness, an employee of the state and a medical expert, has changed his opinion on whether a substance found in Martin's body (THC - marijuana) could have affected him on the night of the incident and yet she STILL will not allow this information in front of the jury?
Ridiculous and obviously one-sided.

If I understood him, I gathered they heard this other gunshot victim crying out for 10 minutes on the 911 call. But I may have misunderstood.Dragonfighter wrote:Hearing a moan on a 911 tape IMMEDIATELY after he was shot and 10 minutes before he was pronounced does not mean he was alive for 10 minutes. Call reflex+Medic Arrival Time+Assessment could easily equal 10 minutes before the DRT call.

IDK, he didn't say that one way or the other. IIRC he said the 911 heard the guy's "sounds of pain" on the call and he was "pronounced 10 minutes later". Could have been a sustained call, he just didn't say.sjfcontrol wrote:If I understood him, I gathered they heard this other gunshot victim crying out for 10 minutes on the 911 call. Yeah, I caught that. Surprised it didn't come up.suthdj wrote:Did anyone else catch the part where Bao said "Real self defense case" in regards to the 10 minute guy?
