Newest member here. Just joined the forum and really enjoyed this thread. I've been reading all your posts for a while, but felt unworthy of joining since I'm in the process of sending in my application and am not actually a CHL holder yet. I've wondered about the origins of several screen names; thanks for solving the mysteries. Especially "El Gato". I figured you for a cat lover, even though I always hear birds in the background on the phone. Thanks for all your advice and support!

It's late at night and couldn't think of anything creative. After I'm more confident with my skills, maybe something else will fit better.

Just started shooting and I've become obsessed. I took the NRA Basic Pistol class on Saturday and enjoyed it tremendously. Thanks, Marc! You are an excellent instructor! Also, it was nice to meet you (briefly), Charles. I'm looking forward to utilizing the PSCGC and can't wait to get involved in the ladies programs.

SeamusTX, we lived in Galveston for years. We finally planted roots in Santa Fe. My mother-in-law had a big old Victorian house near the old court house, but she has lived with us for the last year and a half (Alzheimer's

) .

ElGato, have you worn out that cane cutter yet? I saw some online the other day. They had a much bigger hook, but about the same length.

Our 8 year old daughter (2nd grader) made the honor roll at school, so we have an awards ceremony this afternoon. She wants to get into archery and BB gun competition. When we get ready to buy her archery equipment, I'll be asking all of you lots of questions.

Thanks, again, for the online fellowship. I have found over the last few months that people who are "into" guns (law-abiding people, I mean) are the nicest, warmest, most helpful bunch of folks I've ever been associated with.

A double push is a speedskating term. Look up Chad Hedrick (a Houston native, Olympic gold medal winner) and you'll find that he was the first to make effective use of it in racing.

The traditional skating motion has the skate pushing to the outside for power. A double push precedes the traditional push to the outside with a push to the inside (across the midsection of the body). You set down your skate, push to the inside, turn your skate, and push to the outside in one motion. It gives more power, higher gear, and an effective longer stride. It's quite a challenge to learn, but very rewarding when you do.

( lt ) welcomed me aboard he addressed me as ETG I thought that was neat
I COULD USE THAT INSTEAD OF TYPING IT ALL OUT I am a hunt and peck typer. any way native born tex,qualified g17 ( 247 ) suprised me had not shot in 20 + years ,oh yes piney woods east part where the lone star flag waves forever.

Mine is pretty simple. I am a retired Private Investigator. Texaseyes, a play on the "Eyes of Texas" .
I used it as the first username on my first forum participation and it has just stuck with me.

If anyone has seen, used or heard of "Tracks 'N' Facts in the Houston, that would have been me.

I did a lot of insurance fraud for State Farm and numerous other insurance companies while in Houston and prior to moving to East Texas Booger Woods.

PS: Hey Piney, I am in the Lovelady area about 15 miles between Crockett and Trinity. How far away are you:?:

I started contracting to them when I was introduced by Mack Glover, an attorney who I had dealt with previously. He did a lot of subrogation for them. It was when Art Barker was a manager, seems like on Airline or somewhere on the northside. You should remember David Lueders. I go way back to the old "Snake" days.
