Oh I know it wouldn't actually make it unconstitutional, but surely their attitude could bite them in the debates: "Mr. President, since your bill is only constitutional if it's a tax, is it unconstitutional, the biggest and most unpopular tax hike in history, or are you and all the other Democrats just narcissistic, arrogant, and malicious liars?"

Yeah, I know it's a loaded question, but I'd still like to see Romney to ask him... live... on national TV...

Some of these would require additional definition, including appropriate testing procedures, but we can bury all that in the bill and read that stuff after it's passed.

**Failure to purchase and become profecient in at least one firearm by the age of 25: $500 annually for the rest of your life.

**Failure to finish at least a high school education: $10,000 annually for life.

**Failure of an adult (let's go with a more realistic age of 15) to act like an adult: $500 per offense

Since the majority can now constitutionally force the minority to do ANYTHING they want, all we need is for right minded representatives to take over the majority

Yep... I try real hard to keep an upbeat light-hearted attitude, but I'm finding it quite difficult these past few days.

I think (hope?) that the SCOTUS's decision will give the GOP a sweeping victory this election, but I'm not sure two years (until the house is up for re-election) is enough time to undo the damage they've caused.

It very well might. Romney raised some $4,000,000 dollars in the 24 hours after the decision was announced. :thumbs2: :thumbs2:

In crafting this stinking manure pile of a lie, here's what the democrats did..... They assumed that everyone is either rich, or poor, and there are no in between. They mandate that everybody has to have insurance or pay a fine/penalty/tax/whateveryouwanttocallit, but the entire bill conspires to push insurance pricing up, not down. Why? Because they are willfully ignorant about capitalism and how it works. They think that if they WISH the price to go down, it will do so. I haven't decided yet if they are deliberately obtuse, or if it comes naturally to them. Scientists will let us know some day, I'm sure.

So, what happens is that they have put insurance, which was already out of the price range of some tens of millions of people, even further out of their price range. And because that insurance is most expensive to the uninsured, their STUPID LYING DISHONEST IMMORAL OPPRESSION of a bill means that it is those people whom they are trying to force to buy it who will mostly end up just paying the fine because it is cheaper, and they still won't have any insurance. All of this is going to make insurance more easily available to those who can already afford it because the higher risk individuals like me are actually filtered out of the pool by the effects of the language of the law and the law's ACTUAL (not wished for) effect on the insurance market.

Democrats are lame, and their policies just screw things up for everyone else. To them, everything is cheap and easy because they're always spending other people's money.

My own youngest brother, a registered Republican, phoned me on Thursday to bemoan the Court's upholding the bill. During the conversation he said that he regretted having voted for Obama. There was a long pause, and then he said, "I guess you could say 'I told you so.'" I said, "well I'm not going to rub your nose in your bad decision, but maybe you could try actually paying attention to the issues and to the candidate's record the next time. He was an ultra liberal, and you knew that; he had no federal experience, and you knew that, but you still voted for him?" He just got all caught up in the enthusiasm about "America's first black president" (and if anybody voted for him because he is black, that was a racist decision), and he just didn't pay attention. That's the problem with a large number of American voters. They just don't pay attention. They vote with their feelings, and not their brains; and then they wind up feeling internally conflicted because deep down in their hearts they KNOW it was a stupid decision, but they can't grow enough to admit that they were stupid and so they remain trapped in their stupidity, defending the indefensible.

I have no use for such people......unless, like my brother, they actually repent. Without repentance, there is no reformation of character, and the trap of stupidity, selfishness, and lack of commitment to the Constitution which underpins all we experience continues.

So yes, I am more annoyed in the past 2 days than at any other time in my politically conscious career, and I am very, VERY afraid for the nation because fools are pushing us into ever more foolishness until we run headlong over the cliff of dissolution. All because people are just too proud to admit that they were wrong. And that is how great evil becomes an innate part of society.

He won't. I heard the same speculations about Bush and Clinton. He may release a flurry of executive orders on his way out, but no US President is going to suspend elections.

I dont know. Have you seen another president like him? I have never considered this possibility with any other president and dont forget who we are dealing with here.

Never say never. I'm no longer shocked at anything that happens in the Federal government. There are a whole lot more "surprises" that are going to happen between now and November.

I'm to the point now that I pretty much no longer care about what happens to the nation. It's dead. Irrevocably, and irretrievably dead and lost. The constitution has been trampled beyond repair, and the fed is so bloated they will never be reigned in. I no longer even believe that a Revolution would fix it. The people of this country will not throw off their chains until they realize they wear them. I am 42 years old and fear that my generation may be the last one to have grown up in a free society. As a result of this SCOTUS decision, there is nothing congress can't tax. I don't believe we, conservatives, can win enough seats, for long enough periods, to undo all the damage done since FDR. This all didn't start with Obama, it just culminated with him. If he wins this election, I believe there is a possibility, however remote, that he will find some way to never leave office. Before everybody starts screaming about me wearing my tinfoil hat, stop and think about it. His EO's have been ballsy, and he flat doesn't believe in the foundation of this country.


I will vote for the strongest State's Rights, Right Leaning, Ultra conservative that I can find. It is my fervent hope that my State survives and continues to prosper. I hope and pray for secession or any other scenario in which our great state tells the Feds in DC to fly a kite.
